Second Chance Cycles has been recycling bicycles, teaching bike mechanics, and giving away free bikes to people who need them since 2009.

Since its beginning, the workshop has supported more than 2,800 people on community corrections orders to recycle and repair more than 6,500 secondhand bicycles.

Second Chance Cycles provides a supportive learning space for people on community corrections orders or day release from prison, those who want advice on how to maintain their bikes, and anyone who enjoys tinkering. Participants build practical skills, recycle discarded bicycles, and provide affordable reconditioned bicycles to members of the local Collingwood community.
